11 Steps - How to do an Interior Car Detailing Yourself ?

It is absolutely vital to keep your car detailed. Clean detailed car always refreshens your moods, increase your confidence and the feeling of productivity.


In this post, I am going to teach you how to quickly detail your car with simple tools in a 11 steps.



Steps to How to do an Interior Car Detailing Yourself

Step 1 : Prepare your Tools


The tools that you need :

  1. Vacuum

  2. Garbage Bag

  3. Gloves

  4. 2 Detailing Brushes

  5. An Interior Detailing Spray

  6. A Bristle Brush

  7. A carpet Shampoo

  8. A Hose and water

  9. A Glass Cleaner

  10. A Microfiber Towels

  11. A Protector


Step 2: Take out all the Trash


put on your gloves and remove all the garbage, cans straws, paper towels and etc.

Remove as many trash as you can by hand, Only the small particles are removed by the vacuum.



Step 3: Take out all the carpets


Take out the carpets. Do not clean the carpets inside the car. Not only there will be lots of dusts and garbage left after, but also we need to deep clean them,


Step 4: Vacuum the Carpets outside


Using your vacuum crevice nozzle, remove all the garbage from the carpets, This Might take a while but do not rush into finishing this. Clean all the carpets

Step 5: Wash your Carpet


Use your hose and water to rinse the carpets, Apply your carpet shampoo and using a bristle brush, wash the carpets, After you are done with them , set them aside to Dry out in the fresh air.



Step 6: Vacuum the Carpet inside


Now it is time to maybe the most important part of the a car interior detailing service. with patience, vacuum all over the interior carpet surface. do not let anything left behind. Move the seats to the highest level so you can reach better under the seats. you probably will find some money down there, You are welcome :D


Move your seat forward and backward so you can reach all over the carpet. Using Your detailing brush clean inside the rails where the seats move. pull out all the dust out of there.

Only vacuuming the carpets makes all the different in a car detailing service.



Step 7: Vacuum The seats and the console

Start Vacuuming the seats. with the same cervical nozzle, reach into every cracks and tights spaces, you will be surprise how much stuff is stuck there. use your detailing brush to get all the dust in the console and in the cupholders. the cupholders are usually neglected when people do a car detailing service.



Step 8: Vacuum and dust the dashboard and the doors


Using a clean detailing brush, vacuum and dust all over the dashboard, steering wheel , indicators, air vents and etc.

using your brush and the vacuum, dust the doors completely,


Step 9: Wipe The Interior Surfaces

Use a microfiber towel and spray Interior detailing liquid on it. never apply the spray directly to the dashboard because of the electronics. use the microfiber towel to clean an wipe all over the dashboard, console, with a second microfiber towel, dry out the surface.

you can spray the liquid onto the doors and wipe it, then using a clean and dry towel, them out


Step 10: Clean The Windows


Never apply the glass cleaner directly on the glass. instead us two microfiber towel method, roll down the windows a little and spray onto one towel, clean the top of the window and then roll it up. Then with the first microfiber towel, clean one of the glasses from inside or outside then dry it out with a dry microfiber towel . repeat the same process for all the glasses



Step 11: Apply A Surface Protector


At the end, apply a protector on a microfiber towel and wipe it on the surfaces to get a nice shine.
